Speech Language Therapist
Speech-language therapists assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. Patients range from children whose speech is slow to develop, to older individuals whose ability to speak has been impaired by illness or injury. A personal treatment plan is developed for each patient. Patients and their families are educated about how to overcome challenges stemming from communication or swallowing problems.
